Survey: people value gadgets more than health

Results of a survey conducted by Irish company 'Behaviour and Attitudes' on behalf of Gadgetinsurance.ie has shown that people value their gadgets more than their health.

When asked what insurance policies they would like to hold if available at an acceptable price, some 33 percent of people said gadget insurance, whereas only 31 percent said they would hold a health insurance policy.

Gadgets people said they would insure, at the right price include mobile phones or smart phones, laptops, camcorders and hair straighteners.

Surprisingly, only 9 percent of people said they would insure an iPad or similar tablet.

Currently, mobile phone providers charge from €9.99 per month (Vodafone and E Mobile) up to €13.75 (Carphone Warehouse) for iPhone cover. This works out as approx €120 per year.
