Skoda is aiming the car especially at families looking for a roomy first car at an affordable price.
Powertrains will include five petrol and one diesel engine.
The Skoda Rapid is the first Skoda to feature the brand's new design: clear, precise, fresh, timeless and elegant. It will be the new benchmark for roominess in the compact class and will slot in to the Skoda range between the Fabia and Octavia.
The car is 4.48 metres long, and 1.7 metres wide. It can seat five occupants and their luggage.
The Rapid competes in the highly competitive A segment.
