Opel to become 'more affordable'

Opel plans to make its cars 'more affordable' in a strategy to win back customers.

The company's CEO Carl-Friedrich Stracke says its more premium pricing strategy of recent years had lost them buyers.

And he re-committed the GM-owned brand to further investment in coming years, with plans to introduce 23 new or refreshed models between now and 2016. There will also be three new powertrain families.

One of the new models will be the Mokka B segment SUV pictured above.

He was speaking in Monte Carlo at an Automotive News Europe Congress.
