Fiat Ireland vehicles make BBC TV debut

Fiat Ireland provided a range of cars to star in the BBC2 production of the Vexed series, writes Trish Whelan.

The first episode aired at the start of August and was filmed predominantly in Dublin in February and April, with help from Irish Film Board International Production Fund.

The story is centred around a car dealership, packed with Fiat Ireland vehicles. Irish talent features strongly in the production, including the directors Ian Fitzgibbon and Kieron J Walsh, DOP and editor.

The first episode of the new series saw bumbling Detective Inspector Jack Armstrong (Toby Stephens) joined by a highly efficient rookie partner, Georgina Dixon (Miranda Raison) to investigate the death of a car salesman whose body is found in the boot of one of the dealership's vehicles.

The Fiat 500 TwinAir, Chrysler Delta, Fiat Qubo, Alfa Romeo 159 and Jeep Compass all appear in an and around the fictitious dealership showroom where the plot is centred. A Jeep Grand Cherokee is thrashed in a muddy field, but actually no vehicles were harmed.
