Seat's Mii has gone on sale here priced from €9,895-€12,020 writes Trish Whelan.
The Mii is available initially as a 3-door but will soon be followed by a 5-door, powered by a 1.0, three-cylinder petrol engine outputting 75bhp. The 5-door will cost an additional €470 across the range and automatic transmission will also be available for another €750.
The Mii is in Band A with emissions of just 108g/km and a tax rate of €160 per year. Fuel economy is stated to be 4.7 L/100kms on the combined cycle (60mpg).
The Mii comes with a maximum 5-star EuroNCAP rating and safety features include driver and passenger head-chest airbags as standard.
Three trims are offered, the Mii, Chic and Sport. All cars have ESC with Hillhold, and Isofix points for rear seats as standard, as is a radio CD player with Aux-in functionality so you can play your MP3 in the car.
The mid spec, at €11,350, adds front fog lights, 14-inch alloy wheels, electric and heated door mirrors, front electric windows, remote central locking, leather steering wheel and gear stick, height adjustable driver's seat, split folding rear seat and four additional speakers for the audio system. The top of the range Sport, priced at €11,550 gains tinted rear windows, front and rear sports suspension and shock absorbers as well as dark trim elements and a grey dashboard, ad 15-inch alloys. A 5-inch Touch Screen which adds Bluetooth connectivity, satellite navigation and an on-board computer is a low cost option at €347. However, for buyers of the Mii in 2012, this Seat Touch will be offered free of charge.
Another option, at €216, is the Safety Assist system which, through a sensor on the upper part of the windscreen, uses laser to scan for vehicles as far as 10 metres ahead. At speeds of up to 300 km/h, the system can detect if a collision is imminent and will either activate the brake system on its own or help the driver to apply maximum braking force.
The Mii, as with all of the Seat range, now comes with a 3-year warranty.
