Hyundai i30 gets top marks for safety

Hyundai's New Generation i30 Tourer has been awarded the maximum five-star safety rating by Euro NCAP. The results give the tourer the same safety rating as the five-door model writes Trish Whelan.

In the stringent tests, the i30 Tourer received a class-leading 90 percent in child occupant protection tests, and 90 percent for adult occupant safety. It also scored well in the pedestrian test, with top marks for the protection to pedestrian's legs provided by the bumper. Electronic stability Programme (ESP), as well as front and rear seatbelt reminder system, contributed to the car''s score of 86 percent in the 'safety assist' category.

The i30 Tourer is priced from €21,245 and emits just 113g/km C02.

It comes with Hyundai's Five Year Triple Care which includes a five-year warranty with no mileage limit, five years of roadside assistance, and five years of vehicle health checks.
