With a little help from the children of the Sophia Housing Association creche, Diana Bunici, presenter of RTE's Elev8 today launched National 'Beep Beep Day', a road safety awareness day for children which takes place in creches and Montessoris nationwide tomorrow, Friday 12 October.
This is a road safety initiative from the Road Safety Authority (RSA) and will take place in almost 1,400 pre-schools around the country tomorrow. Children aged 5 and under will practise basic road safety messages with the 'Simon and Friends' road safety storybooks, songs, games and activities.
'Beep Beep Day' is coordinated nationally by the RSA and organised locally by the County and City Childcare Committees. It takes place tomorrow in the following County Childcare Committee areas: Mayo, Cavan, Monaghan, South Tipperary, Donegal, South Dublin, Leitrim, Meath, Louth, Carlow, Longford, Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown, Kerry, Limerick City and County, North Tipperary and Cork City.
