Flying spuds test wireless

We've heard of couch potatoes, but flying seated spuds?, writes Brian Byrne.

That's just the thing that Boeing recently used to simulate human passengers while testing the effects of in-flight wireless signals for passengers' internet use.

They put 20,000lb of potaties in a decomissioned aircraft for the tests, then later replicated the results with real people on other flights.

One wonders if the boarding cards all referred to 'Spud Murphys'?
