Mazda's new Mazda6 has gone on sale in Ireland priced from €28,745.
The car is available in saloon and estate formats, and the the main seller is expected to be the 150hp 2.2 diesel version in Sport grade at €31,795.
All diesel engines come with Mazda's innovative capacitor system i-Eloop, which stores energy from the regenerative braking system and then feeds out the power again when needed. The system improves fuel economy by some 10 percent.
Overall, the diesel engine is 20 percent more efficient than the on the previous car and delivers CO2 emissions of 108g/km with the 6-speed manual version.
For the first time, Mazda is offering an automatic diesel, with a 6-speed transmission.
Standard equipment on the Sport grades include 17” slloys, a 5.8” touch screen multimedia audio system, climate control, cruise control and Bluetooth phone connection, front and rear parking sensors and Smart City Brake Support.
