New Dacia Sandero on sale tomorrow

'Shockingly affordable' is how Dacia describe their new Sandero which is priced from €9,990-€14,490, writes Trish Whelan.

It follows the launch of the Duster last July.

This new 5-door supermini goes on sale in the brand's dealerships here from tomorrow, Tuesday 8 January.

Two specifications are offered, Alternative and Signature. Engines include a 1.2 75bhp, TCe 90 (1.0-litre) with Stop/Start, and the only diesel, a 1.5 dCi 90bhp.

Sandero seats five adults and has a boot capacity of 320 litres. Like Ryanair's 'no frills' policy, the entry level is a very basic car centred on simplicity allowing customers buy exactly what they need and nothing more; the  Signature trim level offers extra comfort and design features.

From entry level, the Sandero comes with Electronic Stablity Control, Emergency Brake Assist, four airbags, height adjustable headrests, split folding rear seat, radio with CD, MP3, USB and Bluetooth as standard. Prices include VRT.
