New Lexus IS revealed

These are first pictures of the next generation Lexus IS, which debuts next week at the Detroit International Auto Show, writes Brian Byrne.

They call it 'aggressive elegance', and it's certainly not going to be a shrinking violet with that front end and the seriously sculpted profile. It is wider and longer than the current car.

There will be a hybrid version when it comes to Europe, the first time the IS range has used the groundbreaking Toyota/Lexus system.

The car pictured is the F Sport, which has a larger grille to help bring more air to the sportier engine.
