Against an overall drop of 10.7 percent in new car sales and LCV sales in 2012, Jaguar Land Rover showed a combined overall gain of 58 percent, writes Trish Whelan.
Since assuming the Land Rover franchise in 2009, JLR here have increased sales by 168 percent from 424 units to 1,140 units in 2012. In 2011, its first year of sales, the Range Rover Evoque sold 250 units in Ireland, which Gerard O'Farrell, managing director of Jaguar Land Rover in Ireland said was a great success. He was speaking at the Irish launch of the Jaguar XF Sportbrake and the flagship new Range Rover yesterday.
Two future models are due here this year.
