New Kuga arrives
Ford is only selling diesel versions of its new generation Kuga in Ireland for the moment, although highly efficient EcoBoost petrol engines are available, writes Brian Byrne from the car's international launch in Valencia, Spain.
Thye entry price for the new version of the very successful compact SUV is in the order of €33,500, with full prices to be provided later this evening.
The 2.0 diesel powertrains come in the familiar 140hp/163hp, but are around 10 percent more efficient.
The new car is longer, lower and narrower than the outgoing model, with a high range of Ford's latest technologies for comfort and safety.
Unique to the car is a rear door that can be opened by simply waving a foot under the bumper, very useful for an owner laden down with shopping.
The car has received a 5-star ENCAP safety rating, and offers better handling and steering, as well as improved quietness and refinement.
More later.
