The Nissan Qashqai range has claimed the top spot in car sales in 2013 so far, writes Trish Whelan.
Figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) show that since 1 January, the Qashqai range has sold a total of 1,335 units, accounting for almost 5 percent of the total car market year to date, topping the sales charts and putting it ahead of the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus ranges. Over 20,000 Qashai cars have been registered in Ireland since its launch in 2007.
James McCarthy, Chief Executive of Nissan Ireland says they are delighted that Qashqai is the most popular car of choice in Ireland. "Its great mix of stylish design, cutting-edge technologies and best in class residual values are strong contributing factors to its success and popularity amongst Irish motorists."
The Nissan Juke joins the Qashqai in popularity stakes also for 2013 - as it also tops the sales charts in its respective segment.
