VW SUV concept shows future ideasThe future style direction of Volkswagen SUVs, in the shape of the CrossBlue Coupe, makes its global debut at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show this week.
This five-seat concept has a low-profile, wide appearance and sits on 22-inch alloy wheels so it's muscular and sporty looking.
The CrossBlue Coupe also highlights future drivetrain possibilities, in this case a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a V6 turbocharged direct injection petrol engine and two electric motors of 40 kW front and 85 kW rear, together producing up to 415hp.
Via a six-speed DSG gearbox, the car can accelerate like a sports car from 0-100km/h in 5.9 seconds. It has a theoretical range of 1,190kms (740 miles). The range in all-electric mode is 33km/20 miles.
There are currently no plans for the CrossBlue Coupe to go into production.
