Merc hit by another airbag recall

Another airbag related recall has hit the car industry, this time Mercedes-Benz, with at least 6,000 of its new A-Class hatchback being pulled back for a passenger airbag check, writes Brian Byrne.

In certain cases it is possible that the airbag would not deploy properly in the case of an accident, according to a Daimler spokesperson.

It's another component supplier issue. Earlier this month, Mercedes-Benz recalled its Citan van to repair the airbag system.

The new generation A-Class was launched in Europe last September.
