Toyota voted No. 1 for Governance

Toyota Ireland has been voted No. 1 in the governance category of Ireland RepTrak 2013, Corporate Reputations' study which analyses the 100 best corporate reputations in Ireland as determined by the public, writes Trish Whelan.

Company governance is measured in three ways. First, it assesses the openness and transparency of a company. Second, it looks at whether the company behaves in an ethical way. Third, it evaluates whether the company is fair and balanced in its business practice.

Ireland RepTrak 2013 consisted of a representative survey panel of 4,965 unique respondents, aged between 18-64. The survey data was collected between January and February 2013.

Other companies ranking in the top five in the Governance category were, in order, from second place: Kerry Group, the National Lottery, Superquinn and Apple.

Toyota Ireland's Managing Director Dave Shannon says "Our reputation for prudent management and the highest adherence to international safety standards have won us the trust of customers and stakeholders alike. Our governance model has been critical to our long-standing retention of a leading position in the Irish and international automotive market."
