Fiat considering rear-drive mainstream Alfas
Alfa fans are probably starting to drool at the prospect of having some rear wheel drive in the future of the marque's more mass-market cars, writes Brian Byrne.
This follows suggestions reported in Automotive News that the Fiat-Chrysler consortium is planning such a platform which would be used by Alfa, Chrysler and Dodge vehicles.
There's hasn't been a RWD Alfa since the Spider. While the upcoming 4C (above) will be rear-drive, it will be a custom built limited edition.
The new platform could also be used for AWD vehicles.
