First 13-day registration figures

Some 6,227 cars were registered in the first 13 days of the new 132 vehicles registration period, writes Trish Whelan.

According to figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry, the first car sold in the period which began 1 July was a Toyota Auris, while Ford's Focus was the best-selling car in the 13 days. Ford also was the best-selling brand.

SIMI also says 635 new vans were registered and 116 new trucks.
