Ford shows new S-MAX Concept
Ford has revealed details of its S-MAX Concept, which will showcase a future multi-activity vehicle in the segment where the current S-MAX is, writes Brian Byrne.
The style has been developed to offer a sharper design and the intention to provide high levels of technology specification, as well as a more efficient powertrain.
Key to the connectivity technologies will be the addition of Ford's SYNC system to the range, but in addition there is in the concept a driver's seat that tracks the operator's heart rate and can predict when there might be problems from driver stress.
A new interior style is less sculpted than the current Ford theme, but emphasises clarity and ease of use of controls.
The new power unit is a 1.5 EcoBoost petrol engine, the latest in a family of engines which have changed the whole concept of relying on diesel for passenger car economy.
