Mazda’s new-generation Mazda3 with SKYACTIV technologies is to go on sale in Ireland from this November following its much anticipated European public premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show last month. First customer deliveries will be made in early January 2014.

The much anticipated all-new Mazda3 follows in the tracks of the Mazda CX-5 and the Mazda6, which have been hugely successful globally. It is undeniably a worthy third member of the Mazda’s newest generation of car with its award-winning ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’ design and cutting edge SKYACTIV technology, offering superior performance and economy in one.

From the exterior, the all-new Mazda3 inherits the powerful stance and dynamic flowing lines as seen on the all-new Mazda6. Taking on Mazda3’s smaller, leaner proportions, the car’s shapes work like a magnet, building anticipation of what the vehicle can do. And with its unconventional SKYACTIV technologies – ultra efficient lightweight body, chassis, engine and transmissions - the car is immensely capable, offering a level of performance and driving dynamics as good as it looks.

An exciting and innovative feature of the Mazda3 is the debut of MZD Connect, Mazda’s brand new in-vehicle connectivity concept. Designed for straightforward and above all safe operation, the system makes the latest generation of Mazda’s all-time global bestseller one of the first in its class to take occupants online. Users can now access Facebook, Podcasts, Twitter, explore the world of ‘Aha’ with tens of thousands of digital radio stations and cloud-based content, or reap the benefit of personalised location-based services and Mazda’s own car related apps.

The all-new Mazda3 also embodies extra safety features such as the Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) which helps to reduce or prevent low-speed collisions by automatically applying the brakes if the driver fails to act and Hill Hold Assist (HHA) to prevent roll back. It is expected to follow in the footsteps of the Mazda CX-5 and Mazda6 and receive a much coveted 5 stars from the Euro NCAP.

‘From a design and performance perspective, the new generation Mazda3 truly embodies the spirit of Mazda, defying conventional expectations of the C-segment. The new generation Mazda3 offers not only a more powerful and fun drive but more importantly, a more economical and safer one.’ Comments Tony Howarth, Managing Director, Mazda Motor Ireland

The all-new Mazda3 also offers a greatly enhanced premium specification level across models including SE, Executive, Executive SE to the newly introduced GT/Platinum grades. GT/Platinum specification grades include 18” Alloy Wheels, Surround Sound Bose System, 9 speakers, Heads up Display and Front and Rear parking sensors. A range of nine exterior colours, including the sensational ‘Soul Red’ metallic first seen on the larger, new-generation Mazda6 as well as two new exterior colours, ‘Titanium Flash’ and ‘Deep Crystal Blue’.

Prices for the all-new Mazda3 range will start from €21,595 for the SKYACTIV-G Petrol 100PS and from €25,295 for the SKYACTIV-D Diesel 150PS.
