Next Ka revealed in Brazil

This is the concept version of Ford's next Ka, due for release next year in emerging markets, writes Brian Byrne. It is also likely to appear in Europe.

It was unveiled this week in Brazil, where the current Ka is not like the European one based on Fiat underpinnings, but developed from the original Ford first generation version.

The model was first launched in Europe in 1996.

City car sales are expected to grow dramatically in coming years and the Ka Concept features the same lines and detail as the American market Fusion (European next Mondeo) and the Fiesta.

This concept was developed in-house by Ford Brazil, and it's likely to be powered by the 1.0 EcoBoost petrol engine.
