Dacia has introduced its Sandero Stepway Crossover at the price of a supermini, writes Trish Whelan.
It has the style of a SUV and the practicality of a family hatchback. It comes with raised ride height, 16-inch alloy wheels, roof bars and a choice of Glacier White or four metallic colours - Platinum, Fire Red, Pearl Black and Azure Blue.
The two engines available are the TCe 90 petrol with 90bhp and a fuel return of 5.4 L/100kms; and the 1.5 turbo diesel dCi 90 which Dacia say can achieve 4.0 L/100kms and emits 105g/km C02. Tax Bands are A3 for the petrols and A3 for the diesels.
Two versions are: Alternative and Signature.
Standard items on the Alternative include remote central locking, Electronic Stability Control, Emergency Brake Assist, four airbags, Daytime Running Lights, ISOFIX points for child seats, split folding rear seat, front fog lights, and Bluetooth. The top trim adds a chrome front grille, leather steering wheel, cruise control and speed limiter, rear parking sensors, a 7-function on board computer, air conditioning, and rear electric windows.
Stepway also comes with good ground clearance and underbody protection for tough road conditions.
Like the rest of the Dacia range, it comes with a 3 year / 100,000km warranty, extendable up to five years unlimited mileage for €369. It is priced from €12,290-€15,690 or from €129 per month through Dacia Finance.
