Many in the Irish motor industry will be saddened to hear of the death of Eddie Nolan, former MD of Ford Ireland, at the weekend.
Mr Nolan led the Irish company from 1987 until he retired in 2001. In 2011 he opened the Cork City Ford dealership with his son John.
A keen sailor, he was a founder of and the driving force behind the Cork Week Sailing Regatta based on the annual event run by the Cork Royal Yacht Club in Crosshaven.
Mr Nolan is survived by his wife Cintra, and their children Helen, Michael, John and Peter.
