The Tourer version of the Honda Civic is scheduled to arrive in Ireland in February, writes Brian Byrne.
Load capacity will range from 624L-1,668L depending on seating configuration, with a fully flat floor available when the rear seats are folded away.
The variant is 235mm longer than the Civic Hatchback.
Power will be provided by the 1.6 diesel already seen in the hatchback and more recently in the C-RV. In this application it has rated CO2 emissions of 99g/km. A 1.8 petrol will also be available, with auto trans option.
Honda has developed an adaptive rear suspension for the Tourer to manage varying loads.
Options will include a range of electronic safety systems, using cameras, laser radar and traditional radar in conjunction with a 'City-Brake' collission mitigation system.
