Peugeot Ireland boss bullish about 2014 business
The arrival of the new generation Peugeot 308 will add to the opportunity the brand has in Ireland to grow beyond the 3.2 percent market share it achieved in 2013 for cars and LCVs, writes Brian Byrne.
That's the view of Peugeot Ireland's MD Des Cannon, who also says the sales in the Irish market so far suggest a boost to the overall car trade in 2014.
Speaking at the Irish press launch of the new car, he said the brand in Ireland is showing a 40 percent growth over the same 20-day period last year, and his team is very excited that trade will see a positive outcome for 2014.
He also noted that the 2008 small MPV launched last year is in a position where demand in Ireland is outstripping supply. He added that the Peugeot brand is succeeding in one of its key growth strategies, with a doubling of the sales of high-spec grades in its models over the last two years.
