Audi will release its CLA 45 AMG-killer in a few weeks with the sedan version of the S3, writes Brian Byrne.
The 300hp 4-door booted variant will have a sub-5 seconds 0-100km/h capability thanks to its turbocharged 2.0 petrol engine and will also target the BMW M3.
It will only be available with quattro AWD to make sure that all the traction possible gets from the engine to the road.
We recently drove the S3 3-door hatch, and were considerably impressed. With the arrival of the A3 sedan generally in markets last year, Audi is expecting that it will take a strong share in overall A3 sales. The S3 sedan will be the model's flagship in many markets, especially the US and China.
