Peugeot reveals its Geneva line-up

Peugeot will unveil two new models and a new range of petrol and diesel engines on its huge stand at the 84th Geneva Motor Show next month, writes Trish Whelan.

The new Peugeot 108 and the new Peugeot 308 SW will premier at the show, while the new PureTech 1.2 3-cylinder petrol engine and the new BlueHDi diesel engine range (Euro 6 compliant), take to the Peugeot stand. The latest model introductions to the Peugeot range will see the Lion Brand celebrate its youngest ever range in its history.

During this summer the Peugeot 107 will give way to the new Peugeot 108. The new entry into the micro-segment will be available in both hatchback and convertible guise. A choice of four petrol units is available with C02 emissions from 88g/km.

We will also see a second body style to the new 308 range with the 308 SW taking its place in the estate category which accounts for 10 percent of the C-segment in Europe.

Peugeot will also unveil its new PureTech low-capacity petrol engines. The 1.2 110 and 130bhp PureTech e-THP three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engines are clean and powerful. Against engines of equivalent power and driveability, Peugeot say fuel consumption and C02 emissions are reduced by 21 percent.

Peugeot will also unveil new BlueHDi diesel emissions technology to appear on several versions of their new 308 and 308 SW and 508. This technology will progressively be introduced on all the brand's diesel models.

The French carmaker will also show its 308 R 1.6 litre 270bhp Concept, a hint at future projects, on the stand.
