Glasgow International Comedy Festival 2014, Europe’s largest comedy festival, takes place from Friday 14 March to Saturday 5 April 2015, with a fantastic line-up of 416 shows, across 46 venues in the vibrant city of Glasgow.
The festival is just one of the many events and celebrations taking place throughout the year for Homecoming Scotland 2014, offering Irish visitors a great schedule of top comedians.
The line-up for 2014 includes; Sarah Millican, Miranda Hart, Ruby Wax, Sean Hughes, Seann Walsh and Simon Evans, and visitors will also be treated to performances from Scottish-born comedians such as Des Clarke, Raymond Mearns, Susan Calman, Craig Hill, Hardeep Singh Kohli and Gary Little as well as Irish-born talent including Michael Redmond, best-known for his role as Fr Stone in the cult Irish comedy series, Father Ted.
Glasgow is also gearing up to host the XX Commonwealth Games, which will take place during July and August, as part of the Homecoming Scotland 2014 calendar of events. The city will also host the MTV Music Awards 2014 in November, with the line-up set to be announced later in the year.
Glasgow is easily accessible for Irish visitors with direct flights available from Dublin, Cork and Shannon, making it an ideal option for a city break this year.
