The Peugeot 308 has won the European Car of the Year 2014 award, announced in Geneva this afternoon, writes Brian Byrne.
It was adjudged the best out of 30 new models which went on sale in Europe during 2013, and won out with 307 points against a short-list which included the BMW i3 (223), the Tesla Model S (216), the Citroen C4 Picasso (182), the Mazda3 (180), Skoda Octavia (172) and Mercedes-Benz S-Class (170).
It is the fourth Peugeot to win the award — the others were the Peugeot 307 in 2002, the 405 in 1988 and the 504 in 1969.
