Set to raise half a million for LauraLynn

Ray D'Arcy and the team from Today FM were at LauraLynn Children's Hospice today calling for support of the Half Million Half Marathon in aid of LauraLynn in association with Volkswagen and Athletics Ireland, writes Trish Whelan.

On Friday, 18 April, some 2,000 runners will join Ray in the Phoenix Park to raise money for LauraLynn, Ireland's only Children's Hospice. Each race participant is being asked to raise €250 for the charity with the overall aim of raising half a million euro.

Ray says they are asking 2,000 runners to run over 26,000 miles collectively to raise half a million euro for the charity.

Paul O'Sullivan, Head of Marketing, Volkswagen Ireland explains that LauraLynn provides a very important service to families when they need it most.

Each participant must register on the Athletics Ireland website where they can either pay €250 for immediate registration or register their details and create an online MyCharity page in order to raise €250. MyCharity will inform Athletics Ireland once the €250 target has been raised and registration will be confirmed.
