SKODA Q1 sales up 26% on 2013

SKODA Ireland sales figures are up 26 percent from 2013 with 3,544 new vehicles delivered to customers during the first quarter of this year,  writes Trish Whelan.

The figures show SKODA in a record sixth position in the Irish car market with 7.1 percent market share. This brings them a step closer to achieving their target of 8 percent market share.

SKODA attribute growth this year to a number of factors including the opening of four new dealerships: Spirit SKODA in Sandyford, Brady's Cavan, Mullingar Autos and Michael Moore Car Sales in Athlone, bringing the brand's dealer network to 25. Another factor is the availability of SKODA finance offers through Volkswagen Bank.

The car company are expecting increased sales with the arrival of the Octavia Scout and Octavia L&K in July, and a new Fabia supermini early next year.
