SsangYong parachutes ball to Battle

Spectators at a special rugby game between the world-famous Barbarians and Clontarf Rugby Club were taken by surprise when a SsangYong parachute team delivered the rugby ball to the referee from the sky, writes Trish Whelan.

The game was organised to celebrate the 1,000 year anniversary of the battle of Clontarf. It took place yesterday, Wednesday 23rd, and the unusual ball delivery was organised by SsangYong dealer Peter Dennis of HB Dennis Airside in Swords. The Korean sky invaders, all sporting SsangYong flags, caught many spectators by surprise.

Peter Dennis said he was 'elated with the reaction from the crowds' and felt he had 'achieved his goal of recreating some of the excitement and anticipation that would have been present all those years ago during the original battle'. Peter used the opportunity to promote the new SsangYong Rexton W.

The game also ended on a high with Clontarf beating the Barbarians 43-42.

Pictured at the event were John Dennis and Vinny Howard, with international and Heineken Cup referee Nigel Owens.
