The top three selling models so far this year are the VW Golf (2,489), Nissan Qashqai (2,051) and Ford Focus (2,046). These are followed by Skoda Octavia (1,600), Ford Fiesta (1,588), Hyundai ix35 (1,570), Toyota Corolla (1,542), Toyota Yaris (1,130), Kia Sportage (1,124) and Toyota Auris (1,086).
Figures from SIMI show that most sales were hatchbacks, accounting for 35.24 percent. Diesels accounted for 73.87 percent, petrols at 24.81 percent and electric cars just 0.2 percent with 101 sales. Some 67.48 percent of cars sold were in C02 Band A.
Silver just pips black as the top selling colour.
