New Vivaro in September

Opel will launch its new generation Vivaro van in Ireland in September at a starting price of €21,995, writes Brian Byrne.

The vehicle will be powered by 1.6 diesel engines, in outputs ranging from 90-140hp. A doubling of the service period to two years is one of a number of improvements on the van, which has sold 620,000 units since the model was first introduced 2001.

There will be two lengths, two heights, and four variants — Crew Double cab, Passenger Minibus, Panel Van and Platform Cab. The two grades are Edition and Sportive, and the Minibus has its own Essential grade.

The expected most popular version in Ireland will be the L2 H1 at €22,995.

More details later from the international launch in Munich.
