Renault to show Sport Trophy race car

Renault Sport Technologies' latest creation, the Renault Sport Trophy show car, will be unveiled at the Moscow International Automobile Salon which runs from 27 August to 7 September, writes Trish Whelan.

This car has been designed solely for competition and will now be put through an intense programme of development tests before joining the World Series by Renault in 2015.

Built by Dallara, the carbon monocoque will be powered by a Nismo engine delivering more than 500bhp. It will have a seven-speed sequential gearbox and Michelin is to develop a specific tyre for the package.

We'll have to wait til the opening day of the Moscow show to get a first glimpse of the car.
