Skoda launch Yeti Sherpa Commercial

Skoda's first commercial model in 15 years has just been launched, writes Trish Whelan.

The new Yeti Sherpa is priced from €17,911 ex VAT or from €21,985 including VAT.

Customers have a choice of 2.0 TDI 110bhp in two- and four-wheel drive, or a 2.0 140bhp DSG.

The 4x4 model is offered from €19,216 ex VAT and the 4x4 DSG from €21,460 ex VAT. The 4x4 drive option has a towing capacity of up to 2.2 tonnes which will appeal to farmers and vets.

Three grades are offered: Active, Ambition and Outdoor. The entry level Active models come with 16-inch allow wheels, climatic air conditioning, front fog lamps, black roof rails and Swing Radio with CDE and MP3 Playback. The Ambition model adds silver roof rails, chrome inner door handles, 17-inch Scudo alloy wheels, LED rear lights, rear parking sensors, Buetooth hone kit, multifunctional leather steering wheel, leather handbrake handle and gear knob.

The top Outdoor spec adds over €1,000 worth of equipment for a €548 price walk, adding a Bolero touch-screen sound system, 17-inch Erebus alloy wheels, Cruise Control, Sunset windows and front and rear parking sensors.

Annual motor tax is €333.

Since they launched the Yeti a number of years ago, there have been requests from a variety of occupations the like carpenters, plumbers, sales reps and even florists for a commercial version, says Skoda Product Manager Hugh Delaney.

Yeti Sherpa comes with just two seats and a 10-inch bulkhead and 6 secure points for tying down cargo.

The Czech brand's last commercial model was the Felicia Pick-Up.
