The Donegal-Derry pairing of Donagh Kelly and Kevin Flanagan brought their Ford Focus WRC to its third major victory in five weeks by taking top place by 69 seconds in the Quality Hotels West Cork Rally, increasing their lead in the Clonakilty Blackpudding Irish Tarmac Championship.
Their closest challengers were Sam Moffett and Karl Atkinson in the Combilift Fiesta, with Stephen Wright and Mikie Galvin third in another Fiesta.
Veteran Ray Moore showed all his younger challengers the way home in the Formula Vee Final at the opening Mondello Park race meeting of the season. The Dubliner seized the lead at the start and opened out a seven second lead over a frantic, four way battle for runner up position.
Dan Polley just took the place ahead of David O'Brien, with the four cars covered by just over half a second at the chequered flag. There were double wins for John Farrelly in the Touring Car races, and teenager Jack Byrne in the new Fiesta Junior class, while Barry Rabbitt came out the victor in the closely fought Fiesta Final.
