This is the world's fastest Volkswagen Beetle, which set a new speed record of 328.195 km/h at the World of Speed event at Lake Bonneville in Utah USA, writes Brian Byrne.
The Beetle LSR (Land Speed Record) has a 550hp turbocharged 2.0 engine and achieved the record over a distance of one mile.
Getting that massive power came from technologies which included a new turbocharger, different pistons, camshafts, connecting rods and cylinder head modifications.
The performance was officially recorded at the driving record event sponsored by the Utah Salt Flats Racing Association.
