The appeal that the Spanish resort of PortAventura has for parents and young children has one again been recognised in a competition for children being hosted by banana importer Fyffes as part of their initiative to promote healthy eating.
Star prize amongst a series of adventure trips — which includes a number of child-friendly activity destinations in Ireland — the PortAventura offering will go to the overall winner in Fyffes ‘Bring Freddy On An Adventure’ competition, just launched.
Until December, families buying ready-packed bags of bananas, can enter the competition by creating a photo montage showing Freddy Fyffes dressed to explore pursuits from scuba diving to space travel.
Supporting the scheme — designed to encourage children and their parents to eat natural, additive-free food — are Dunnes Stores, SuperValu and others.
Details can be found at #FreddyFyffes and www.freddyfyffes.ie.
Pictured in playful mood at the launch of the competition are 6-year old Chloe Lynn from Malahide. With her is Fyffes marketing manager Emma Hunt-Duffy and their popular mascot Freddy Fyffes.
