Another SUV coming from Volvo

Volvo will be extending its 40 series range with an XC40 compact SUV later this year, writes Brian Byrne.

The car will expand the number of SUVs produced by the Swedish company, owned by Chinese carmaker Geely.

In a teaser showing textiles prior to the model's debut, Volvo is promising a high degree of customisation for owners.

It will join the V40 and a planned S40 saloon which was previewed last year as a concept. A replacement V40 is also in the new cars mix.
