Power Insignia to revive Opel performance designation

A new GSi performance version of the Opel Insignia will be available to order in Ireland soon after its debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, writes Brian Byrne.

The designation revives one which has a history going back 33 years to the Manta and Kadett GSi variants.

The new car will have a 260hp 2.0 turbo petrol engine and there will also be a diesel variant. An 8-speed automatic transmission will be used.

The new GSi will be AWD.
