Plug-in hybrid Range Rover Sport upcoming

Land Rover will be offering a plug-in hybrid version of its Sport next year, writes Brian Byrne.

The variant will be the final part of a refresh of the model launched in 2014, which includes detail changes to the exterior — including a new grille and LED headlights — and a significant revamp of the interior.

This latter includes the provision of two 10" touchscreens for management of various functions as well as navigation and visibility.

The plug-in hybrid will offer nearly 400hp combined from its 2.0 turbo petrol and electric motor combination. The EV range will be in the order of 50km.

Some changes have been made to the AWD system to save weight.
