Opel’s new Grandland X SUV, which world premiered at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, will arrive in Irish dealerships in mid-December, writes Trish Whelan.
The Grandland X can now be ordered with the 177hp, 2.0 diesel with 400 Nm of torque, combined with the new eight-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0 diesel can do 0-100km/h in 9.5 seconds and has a top speed of 211 km/h. It has a trailer load of 2,000 kilogrammes (braked at 12 per cent gradient). Combined fuel consumption is claimed to be under 5.0 L/100kms.
In addition, the Grandland X will also be offered with the premium ‘Ultimate’ trim which includes a string of luxurious features as standard. This includes adaptive AFL LED headlights, the 360 deg camera and Advanced Park Assist.
Driver and passengers are connected with the personal connectivity and service assistant OnStar along with the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible Navi 5.0 IntelliLink infotainment system with eight-screen colour touchscreens. Compatible smartphones can be charged wirelessly.
