An appeal for 'biking safe' through the summer has been made to motorcyclists by the Road Safety Authority, writes Brian Byrne.
In conjunction with An Garda, the RSA is asking bikers to 'ease off the throttle' and keep within speed limits, and never to drink and drive.
Summer is high risk for motorcyclists, according to the Authority, especially at weekends.
Since 2010, 168 motorcyclists and been killed on Irish roads, and 629 seriously injured.
