The upcoming SEAT Tarraco will fill out the Spanish brand's SUV lineup with a 7-seater vehicle, writes Brian Byrne. A 5-seater version will also be available.
The Tarraco will be unveiled at an event in Tarragona, Spain, in mid-September. It will be similar in size to the Skoda Kodiaq.
Tarraco is the Roman name for Tarragona, and the car will be the 14th SEAT to be named after a Spanish town.
The Tarraco will be built in the Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg, as part of a plan to increase the production there by 25pc by 2020.
The new 8th generation Golf will also be built at Wolfsburg, consolidating all the model's production in one place.
