Changes also include the addition of Ford's 2.0 EcoBlue diesel with selective catalytic reduction, and the company's 8-speed automatic transmission.
The updated car was revealed at the Brussels Motor Show in Belgium.
A wagon version of the Mondeo Hybrid is also now available, with 403 litres load capacity beneath the cargo cover with the rear seats in place, and up to 1,508 litres with the rear seats folded.
