Westmeath county footballers will wear special jerseys with the message ‘Together for Mental Health’ during their Allianz Football League Div 2 clash against Armagh in TEG Cusack Park Mullingar this Sunday 23 February, writes Trish Whelan.

This initiative is supported by county sponsor of Westmeath GAA, Renault Ireland, in conjunction with O’Briens Renault Mullingar, Pieta House in Athlone and Good2Talk in Mullingar.

Pieta House provides a free, therapeutic approach to people who are in suicidal distress, those who engage in self-harm and those bereaved by suicide. Good2Talk offers a counselling and support service for those who present with a range of issues including depression, grief, anxiety, self-harm and suicidal ideation.

Renault Ireland is the official car partner of the GAA and GPA, cementing Renault’s ongoing support for GAA heroes on and off the field.

Patrick Magee, Country Operations Director, Renault Ireland said: “We are delighted to be able to support this initiative as county sponsors of Westmeath GAA, together with our local dealership O’Briens Mullingar, and hope it will help to highlight some of the range of mental health services available and the fantastic work of these charities. We’re looking forward to an exciting clash on Sunday and wish the players the very best of luck!”
