Cupra, the performance brand of SEAT in Spain, will have its first fully own-design car on the market in the autumn, writes Brian Byrne.
The Formentor is a compact utility vehicle and will be offered with 310hp turbo petrol power or a 245hp hybrid powertrain.
Dynamic Chassis Control will be standard to allow owners take full advantage of the Formentor's performance.
A new Cupra Leon will also be along in the autumn, based on the new generation of the hatch and estate mainstream cars.
These will be powered by a 245hp hybrid system, as well as 300hp turbo petrol and a 310hp variant for the AWD Sportstourer.
A September market entry is planned for the revised version of the Cupra Ateca, based on what was the first model produced for the Cupra brand.
Prices yet to be decided for the Irish market.
