Warning to drivers with schools reopened

An appeal for drivers to take extra care because there are more children cycling and walking to school has been made by the Road Safety Authority, writes Brian Byrne.

The fact that there are also school buses in the traffic mix is also highlighted, and drivers are advised that they should slow down, and stop if necessary, when buses are pulling in to drop off or pick up their young passengers.

Hildegarde Naughton TD, Minister of State for International and Road Transport and Logistics, says drivers need to adjust both their 'mindset and driving behaviour' in these back to school conditions.
